Travelers In The Sky is an Upcoming Turn Based Mobile RPG
So on Friday I talked about a beautiful upcoming RPG called Awakening Automata. Earlier this morning though I was told to take a look at another RPG called “Travelers In The Sky.”
This game has some absolutely gorgeous characters. I know this is just a trailer, but I’ve seen gameplay footage right out of China and the character models used in-game look incredible. Well, character portraits, not character models themselves.
Very little is known about the game currently, but from what I can tell from the trailer, the game functions more or less like the majority of turn-based RPGs.
You have a menu where you can upgrade, equip and recruit additional characters. There’s the mission menu. You know, the norm.
I can’t say specifically what the game is about, but if you’re a fan of hot Anime waifu’s then I guarantee at the very least you’re going to find enjoyment outta this.
It looks as though each of your characters have elemental affinities and their own unique, special abilities that are fully animated and actually look pretty damn good. Enemies also have elemental affinities, with specific elements being stronger and weaker against other elements.
Honestly, if you’re a fan of games that involve you taking missions from a menu then going out and running them 1 by 1 then this will probably be of a lot of interest to you.
Personally, I’m a fan of games with more of a story – I like having a more focused, more involved plot in my RPGs and I’m not all too fond of playing mission-based games.
The combat looks pretty good though and seems to provide a lot of what is expected out of a turn-based mobile RPG.
Graphically, since the game is instanced and mission-based, all it really has to focus on are special effects, environments and character models. Attack effects look great – nothing special but solid.
The character models look very impressive, they’re Anime-inspired and some of the girls are just.. whoa.
Overall, the game is gorgeous – thanks primarily to the characters you have access to, and it has the potential to be a solid RPG title.
But I don’t see it being anything other than a “solid game,” at best.
