The game utilizes segregated zones, allowing players large areas to explore, questing in, fighting the opposing faction in and overall exploring.
There are dungeons, raids, and various PvP modes to engage in.
RIFT used to be one of the best free MMOs on the market, but the poor management by Trion and further mismanagement by Gamigo have really sunk the game into a steep decline. However, the game at its core, if you tackle it as a traditional MMORPG is very fun – just most players rush to endgame using Intrepid Adventures and that kills the experience for me.
