Project D Gets Official Gameplay Trailer
Earlier this year I covered 2 new upcoming games. Neither of those games had official titles, as they were both Korean. And you know what Korean devs love more than money? Well, honestly.. Nothing.
But you know what they love doing with their games? Ruining them with horrendous business models and pay to win.
BUT! We’re not here today to talk about either of those common issues that should realistically be easy to work around and make a worthwhile game. Rather, we’re here to discuss one title in specific, which follows Korea’s traditional naming formula: “Project random letter.”
The reason we’re talking about Project M today is because there was actual gameplay released. Full, in-game footage. And no, this is not going to be cross-play compatible with mobile devices. Let me preface the entire thing by stating that this game is releasing for PC and consoles only.
Honestly the trailer kinda reminded me of an amalgamation of Vindictus, Dark Souls and Crimson Desert. Which really isn’t a bad thing. Quite the contrary. All 3 of those games have certain.. aspects that make them considerably better than most titles in their respective genres.
Project M specifically is looking to provide a variety of realistic expressions and actions associated with what your character is doing, the types of damage they’re suffering, with them going on to elaborate on this by stating they want to “express the realism of staggering or limping if the character injures his or her leg.”
Project M isn’t the only title Hound13, the developers behind Project M are working on. They’re also working on Project D simultaneously – and before any of you go and make a stupid joke about the letter… I know. I see it, okay? Relax.
There’s currently no expected release date for Project M or Project D currently, nevertheless, I’m excited to see how this turns out as it genuinely looks pretty sick from the combat trailer we’ve seen thus far.
And as an aside, this is going to be an “online action RPG,” so its MMO-elements might be more akin to something like.. Warframe? Path of Exile? Genshin Impact? Maybe Lost Ark? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
