Our first impressions of Onigiri were great, but further exploring the game, going to new areas, and seeing the surprisingly well done English translation shows us even more how much of a good quality JMMORPG this is. Much to our surprise.
I mean in all honesty, Onigiri isn’t the best Anime MMORPG. It doesn’t look amazing, the combat isn’t the greatest and the character models aren’t super diverse. Nevertheless, it somehow manages to create a fun environment to play in. Multiple weapon types with their own unique skill sets (like GW2), action combat (BDO, TERA) and seems to have a lot of dungeon grinding (Vindictus, PSO2), while somehow still having an overworld to explore. Very strange, yet somehow entertaining MMORPG!
