ODIN: Valhalla Rising Release Date, Global Release, New Trailers and More
ODIN: Valhalla Rising just had 2 brand new trailers showcased at G-Star 2020 in the last 24 hours – and you can bet I’m not going to miss the opportunity to talk about them.
ODIN: Valhalla Rising is a brand new upcoming MMORPG developed by Lionheart Studio and published by Kakao Games featuring a graphical style that is very reminiscent to Black Desert Online.
For players that were unaware, ODIN: Valhalla Rising is actually being developed as a cross-platform MMORPG. Cross-platform between both PC and mobile devices.
I know this might be a turn-off for some of you, but remember – even Genshin Impact is cross-platform compatible, and as time continues to go by these things become more and more common.
The game itself is set in a completely seamless open-world, much like the game it took inspiration from – Black Desert Online. There are no loading screens to get in the way of exploration.
As you saw in the trailer, while there are going to be mounts present in-game – land-mounts, there are going to be aerial mounts as well, something most games – most MMOs opt not to do.
I personally love aerial exploration in my MMOs. I loved it when I unlocked it in Heavensward, in Wrath of the Lich King. Having that much more freedom is just so.. well, for lack of a better word.. freeing.
The game, as you could see in the second trailer has several different continents: Midgard, Jotunheim, Niflheim and Alfheim.
Yes, you probably recognize these names from the Thor movies – this game is based heavily on Norse mythology, something I’m very eager to explore.
And the fact that we’ll get to go up against large bosses like Loki and perhaps even Thor and Odin themselves is so damn cool.
ODIN: Valhalla Rising Release Date, Global Release Date?
There is no set release date for ODIN: Valhalla Rising presently, other than “Some time in 2021.” I’m aware that’s a little.. vague, but unfortunately it’s all we got.
And yes, that’s 2021 within South Korea, but I guarantee you we’ll be receiving the game over here in the West as well – probably not too long after considering it’s Kakao.
I’m really excited for this game. It’s probably in my 5 most anticipated titles of 2021!
What I do not understand is this PC mmorpg like Black Desert or Silkroad and will it be a separate mobile game like Black Desert? Otherwise, both PC and mobile are the only games. If it is a single game, it looks very ordinary and simple on the PC. Thanks.
