Last Cloudia is Possibly One of the Best JRPGs of 2019.

The war started by the God of Ruin has passed and humanity is now living in peace. However, things start to change when the 12th Division of the Knight Brigade was given a mission to rescue a young woman.

And.. yeah. I mean that’s what the official description reads. You guys asked for Last Cloudia both in my last mobile video and at least 2 of my latest videos on the main MMOByte channel. So here it is.

Last Cloudia is a brand new beautiful RPG featuring real-time combat released back in April 2019.
Upon first entering the game I was under the impression that it was developed by “AIDS,” but apparently there’s an extra “I” in there.. meaning it was developed by AIDIS. Confusing!
The game features a large world with a plethora of missions spread throughout, sending players on a quest – or – actually, a variety of quests to save the world. As is always the case in RPGs.

Combat was real-time with the option of either having combat play out automatically, with the exception of skill usage, and manual combat, which I believe is unlocked at a later date.
Since I didn’t make it all that far through the game, I only had access to the auto-combat with manual usage of skills, which honestly wasn’t bad.
My skills charged up fast enough that I wasn’t bored while fighting, and the combat animations and effects were incredibly high quality.
I’ve come to the realization that Japanese RPGs – both on mobile or on console always have amazing animations.

Like always in a game like this, you play as an actual character. In this case specifically, supposedly the game features two main characters, both the kitty cat and the generic protagonist.
Since the game focuses on a story built around a specific character, and that character has their own personality, voice, and you know, actual appearance, it makes sense that there would be no option to create a hero.
But that doesn’t mean there isn’t customization. I noticed that there were a variety of characters you could recruit, and even noticed that it might be possible to equip different outfits on the characters.
I can’t confirm that because I don’t know enough about the characters at this point to really know who’s who but.. yeah.

Last Cloudia feels like a console RPG. An old JRPG from back when I was a kid.
It is a beautiful game, has actual English voice acting, amazing battle animations, stunning backgrounds, an incredible soundtrack and.. well, the polish on this game is very evident.
I did a video on the best RPGs of 2019 and honestly I regret not having played this game first. I would’ve included it in the top 3, easily as this game is just so well done.
I’ve not found an RPG on mobile that feels like an old, traditional RPG that gave me the same feels I had as a kid.
This kinda did, and that took me by surprise.
