Granblue Fantasy: Relink 2022 Worldwide Confirmation
After what, 3, 4 years waiting, the Granblue game we’ve all been waiting for is right around the corner.
Yup, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, the incredible looking Anime RPG that I’ve been following for years now has a confirmed worldwide release next year! Yes, worldwide! No Japanese exclusive. We’re getting this one, too! And I couldn’t be any more excited.
What’s more, not only is this game going to be released onto both the PS4 and PS5, but it’s coming to PC via Steam as well. Which is ridiculously good news, as it has the potential to appeal to an even larger audience of players.
And if Bandai Namco’s recent Tales of Arise RPG proved anything, it’s that there are millions of players ready to dive right into another large-scale AAA budget Anime RPG!
From the trailer released, we saw got to see quite a bit of the game. We saw the large open world – which admittedly reminded me a lot of the type of world we’d find in a game like Xenoblade Chronicles – 1, 2 and X.
The Anime aesthetic is absolutely stunning. I cannot believe how good the Anime graphics look – how crisp the character models are, how fluid the movement and character animations are in combat.
The action combat itself looks incredible. Not only did it look like it utilized a free-aim system, but you could aim your magic abilities as well.
Relink is going to feature not only a singleplayer option for players that want to play by themselves, but also a multiplayer mode for those of you that want to play with others.
The main story is reserved for solo play exclusively, with multiplayer being possible for everything unrelated to the main story. So side-quests, grinding, boss monsters.
Multiplayer will be handled online as opposed to local couch co-op.
There are a grand total of 12 characters revealed thus far for players to recruit, level, gear and use in battle with more confirmed to be coming further down the line.
It’s unconfirmed exactly how many characters they have planned in total, but 12 characters is already more than almost any other RPG I’ve played. Well.. disregarding Suikoden, with the 108 Stars of Destiny. Which was an absolutely inane task to recruit.
Compared to the last trailer we received back in 2020, Granblue Fantasy: Relink is looking better than ever.
Crisper graphics, more fluid combat, an actual full look at the world we’re going to live in for the week we invest into it. This is an absolute marvel to behold, and I cannot wait to get to play it. I need a new Anime RPG after playing Tales of Arise. I’m having Anime withdrawals.
