Blue Archive is a New Upcoming RPG!
I did a video a couple months ago on a brand new upcoming RPG titled “Project MX.” Other than a small trailer, we really knew nothing about the game and had no footage at all to go off of.
Then a couple weeks ago, it was brought to my attention repeatedly via DMs on Discord and Twitter that it had been confirmed to have finally been given a title: Blue Archive.
While I don’t know the significance of the title, it’s refreshing to not have to refer to it as “Project Random Letters.” So what is Blue Archive? An upcoming Mobile RPG being developed by NAT Games, a subsidiary of Nexon.
Yes, Nexon. I know, I know. This is alarming as Nexon doesn’t really make much in the way of high quality, let alone long-lasting titles, right?
Yet they continue to push out game after game, year after year and people continue to spend so much money in them that Nexon continues to flourish as a company.
So here we are, with another brand new title. Although I’ll admit, the trailer, and the gameplay footage that was recently streamed is kind of adorable.
NAT Games are responsible for other games like Overhit and V4, more recently. One curious thing worth noting here is that Blue Archive is actually expected to launch in Japan first, even before South Korea.
However the publisher within Japan will be Yostar, the publisher behind Arknights, which has since proven to be a critically successful title. Closed Beta is slated to begin in Japan this month – so if you were interested in applying, I hope you went ahead and pre-registered in advance.
Blue Archive is an RPG that puts players in the role of a teacher, who, with the help of their students, attempts to solve strange incidents that are occurring around the town.
As this is a Gacha game, you can bet there are going to be a wide selection of different Waifu’s to go ahead and collect, and this will likely be another hit for Nexon.
I was interested in it when it was Project MX as I thought it looked adorable, and I’m still interested in it now, especially after seeing how good the game looks in-game.
