Blade & Soul: Revolution Opening Pre-Registration
You guys know about Blade & Soul Revolution, right? It’s an upcoming MMORPG built on Unreal Engine 4 based on the popular NCSoft PC MMO “Blade & Soul.”
I’ve done a video pertaining to the game on the main MMOByte channel in the past but this is my first time talking about it here.
While Blade & Soul was released on PC by NCSoft, Blade & Soul: Revolution is done much in the same way as Lineage 2: Revolution by Netmarble.
Revolution is expected to follow through the story for the original PC title, including the conflict with Jinsoyun and the search for Twilight’s Edge.
The reason I’m talking about this today is because Netmarble have announced that pre-registration for the game is going to open up tomorrow, March 24th.
Blade & Soul Revolution is not only set within the same world as the original Blade & Soul, but it features similar areas, costumes, flight and even classes.
This should make it easier for some of you to acclimate to the game considering I’m sure you’re used to the action combat and graphics of its PC counterpart.
I know I am, and although the game looks solid on mobile devices, at the end of the day it’s still going to be a mobile title and I don’t foresee it being nearly as intuitive as Blade & Soul. Similarly to how Black Desert Mobile is.
But that doesn’t mean this won’t be a good game – that isn’t what I’m claiming.
Do note that Blade & Soul Revolution is being developed by Netmarble, and is one of 4 different Blade & Soul game projects going on simultaneously.
We also have Blade & Soul 2 which is being touted as the official sequel to the original PC title by NCSoft, with NCSoft being confident this will bridge players over to the “next era of the MMORPG genre.”
It’ll feature new areas, new characters and a completely overhauled combat and graphical system.
Then there’s Blade & Soul M, which is supposedly a “recreation” of the PC version of the game with enhancements made to graphics, combat and an extension to the story.
And finally Blade & Soul S, which is weirdly enough a prequel to Blade & Soul. This one utilizes a unique chibi graphical style which.. Iunno, really doesn’t suit the Blade & Soul world but hey, they’re trying to milk this IP for everything they can, so why the hell not!
So if you’ve been waiting to get into Blade & Soul Revolution and try it out, then look no further! Tomorrow you’ll be able to register for the game and hope you get in!
For the rest of you: There are other Blade & Soul titles coming up if those are of more interest to you, one of which is actually being done by NCSoft themselves.
I’m.. of the opinion that this is too many Blade & Soul games for me, but it is what it is.
