Yosuke Shiokawa leaves Fate/Grand Order development team
You have to be living under a rock to now know what Fate/Grand Order is. And if you are in fact living under a rock, then… I guess now’s the time to start looking for new accommodations? Just like Yosuke Shiokawa, the 42-year old creative producer that helped steer the Fate/Grand Order game in the right direction. A direction that allowed the game to not only earn over $4 billion dollars in the last 5 years alone, but also go on to become one of the most popular, most successful mobile games in history.
Yosuke confirmed that he left the company responsible for the development of the game back last month in January, and is spearheading his own company, Fahrenheit 213, which is completely owned by him and will focus on developing entirely new gaming franchises as opposed to working on pre-existing titles.
This is a little concerning for the game, as it was under his leadership that the game managed to attract the playerbase and garner the success it has today. Changing someone as important as the creative producer could either be a blessing in terms of new direction and content.. or a curse. I’m genuinely shocked that he opted to leave now, but I wish him luck nevertheless!
