Blue Protocol Release Date Announcement, Global Confirmation, Console Reveal & More!
It’s about time we got this information, but after an entire year of waiting, Bandai Namco and the Blue Protocol team have confirmed they’re currently working on the Global release of Blue Protocol.
Currently, they are expecting to release Blue Protocol in 2021 within Japan, and other regions “in the next year onward.”
Bandai Namco are in the process of hiring staff to work on the upcoming localization of the game, recruiting a Localization Director to work on general UI, text-themed, voice cutscene and supervising the localization of every region personally.
They’re required to have experience with localization, the ability to speak fluent English, and preferably have experience working abroad. They’re also looking for someone that has good coordination skills and is proactive, self motivated and able to take initiative.
The localization director is going to be required to remain in contact with every region and their localization progress, supervising the development and publishing in every region they release into.
Blue Protocol is expected to launch in Japan in 2021 – next year, with other regions coming shortly after. How shortly? That could be as early as late this year, or as late as 2025. The development and localization process of MMOs can take years after all, but we are well aware that they’ve been working on this for a while now.
Finally, the official Blue Protocol website is being updated on October 12th at 11AM JST and will last a total of 4 hours, with the website being inaccessible during this period.
It’s unconfirmed what specifically the overhaul to their website will entail, but my best bet would be that they’re approaching a point in the development process where they’re happy revealing information on their website regarding the system, or systems currently place in-game, characters, lore and other forms of media as is traditionally found on the official websites for games.
This is fantastic news, finally receiving information regarding the game and its upcoming release for a Global audience.
Stay tuned on October 12th for additional follow-up information!
