Blue Protocol will be Free to Play
The team behind the upcoming Anime MMORPG Blue Protocol recently held the 2nd of 3 pre-Closed Beta livestreams. A lot of questions were answered during last night’s stream, but there was one question in specific that confirmed a question we’ve all been waiting on since the game was first revealed in 2019: Will Blue Protocol be free-to-play? What business model do Bandai Namco plan on using for the game?
Surprisingly, the response was very definite: Blue Protocol will be free-to-play with the addition of a Season Pass and a functional in-game cash shop. The cash shop will sell cosmetic items, outfits and various other items that will not impact the game, gameplay or offer anything that could potentially alter stats or give any advantage to players. They touched on a lot more such as being able to alter your characters’s appearance, the confirmation that guilds will be available during the official launch and the unfortunate confirmation that there will be no PvP in-game as of right now. Specifically, they stated “This hasn’t been planned yet,” meaning there is no functional form of PvP currently implemented, nor do they have plans for it in the foreseeable future. I’ll be doing a much more detailed article and video both on that next week so stay tuned if you’re looking for more info!
This game just keeps getting better and better!!
