The 10 Most Popular Gacha Games of April 2022
Sensor Tower statistics are in for the month of March, 2022. These statistics go on to detail the most populated Gacha games – and what this translates to – is “the games that most people are playing, therefore, are likely the most enjoyable to the largest audience.”
To the surprise of nobody, Genshin Impact is the most populated Gacha game. In the US alone, it averaged 3 million downloads in the last month and $76 million dollars in total revenue. In China, it went on to garner 1 million downloads and $59 million dollars.
This is a grand total of $135 million dollars and 4 million total downloads.
Coming in at second place is Uma Musume, at 280 thousand downloads and $63 million dollars in total revenue. For a game exclusive to Japan, that’s a monumental sum of money.
At third, we have Fate/Grand Order, with 90 thousand downloads and $31 million dollars earned.
In 4th place we have Heaven Burns Red with 130 thousand downloads and $23 million dollars in revenue.
5th is Project Sekai with 500 thousand downloads and $15 million dollars in total revenue.
6th place is Princess Connect, with 40 thousand downloads and $5 million dollars earned.
7th is Bang Dream, with 100 thousand downloads and $5 million dollars in revenue.
8th is Arknights, with 30 thousand downloads and $4 million dollars in revenue. Now I want to note that Fate/Grand Order, Heaven Burns Red, Project Sekai, Princess Connect, Bang Dream and Arknights’ listings were all exclusive to Japan.
9th place is Honkai Impact, with 280 thousand downloads and $3 million dollars in revenue, and finally,
Guardian Tales at 10th with 20 thousand downloads and $3 million dollars in revenue.
It’s fascinating how strongly Japan dominates the Gacha market, with half of the top 10 games all being Japanese exclusives or games with larger Japanese populations.
