So The Elder Scrolls Online is finally expanding into Morrowind and holy shit I couldn’t be more excited.
Oh, right. What’s up everyone! How’re you all doing? My name is Stix and today I have some freakin’ awesome news.
So The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind has some of my fondest gaming memories, as it was one of the first large Western RPGs I’d ever gotten into.
Without Morrowind, I never would have gotten into MMORPGs. So you could say that this holds a special place in my heart.
Therefore when I heard the news that ESO was going to Morrowind I couldn’t contain myself.
“Fucking finally!” – how have they not done this yet? Morrowind is generally considered to be one of the greatest RPGs of all time!
It’s the Final Fantasy VII of Western RPGs!
It was so large. So open. So full of life and wonder. Something in my opinion both Oblivion and Skyrim failed to replicate.
I mean don’t get me wrong – both Oblivion and Skyrim are amazing games but Morrowind is just so goddamn good.
Regardless, I don’t want to turn this into a bias discussion on why I believe Morrowind is the best Elder Scrolls game as I know everyone has their own opinion and I don’t want to change that.
The point of this video is that they are finally bringing Morrowind to ESO.
Unfortunately it isn’t set after the events of The Elder Scrolls III, instead this chapter takes place 700 years prior.
The devs behind the game have pointed out their interest in possibly using Dunmer that appeared in the base Morrowind game in the ESO expansion as Dunmer can live well over 700 years.
However, they also went on to point out that after releasing the Morrowind expansion they don’t have any further plans on expanding on it further – instead pointing out that they have plans to continue expanding the base ESO world as opposed to continuing to add onto additional content released after the base game.
While personally a little disappointing, I can definitely see and understand why they might want to do this but it doesn’t make the info any less disappointing to hear.
There is a lot of information released surrounding ESO’s Morrowind expansion and I don’t want to go too far into detail in this video as they elaborate on that plenty themselves.
If you guys want a detailed info video I’m more than happy making one, otherwise – just Google around and you’ll find all you need.
Suffice it to say though – I am very excited, and am going to be getting back into ESO so I can get to a point where I can experience the Morrowind content when it launches.
If you’re into Morrowind, or Morrowind lore – then you should definitely consider giving both The Elder Scrolls Online and this Morrowind expansion a look!
Zenimax have really overhauled what was once considered a terrible game and made it into something really fun and engaging!
Oh yea, since I almost forgot – the Morrowind expansion will be coming out June 6, 2017! Mark your calendars, ’cause we’re getting both Morrowind and Stormblood within mere weeks of each other boys!
